    Elyse McCann, Assistant General Manager, started working at EnviroCentre in 2007 and brings with her an array of experience in the non-profit sector. Following the completion of a social science degree at the University of Ottawa and traveling and working abroad, she returned to Ottawa in 2004 to manage the Ottawa Children’s Safety Village. She has experience in teaching, program planning and management. In addition to her role as the director of operations, she is also the HR manager.


    Andrew Cole, Partnerships Manager, comes to the EnviroCentre with over 20 years of environmental and energy management experience with organizations ranging from Hydro Ottawa, BC Hydro – Power Smart, the Ontario Ministry of Energy, Toronto Region Conservation Authority, Resource Futures International to environmental NGO’s such as The Sage Foundation, Destination Conservation, Rawson Academy and Pollution Probe. He has been able to build on his Bachelor of Science through a variety of positions advocating and demonstrating energy conservation and renewable energy technologies and administering and implementing Demand Side Management programs.


    Celia Ladurantaye, Programs Assistant, began working with EnviroCentre in 2008.  She was part of the team that coordinated the ecoEnergy Retrofit Program for Houses that we retail to private homeowners in Ottawa and surrounding areas. Celia also does the graphic design for EnviroCentre’s marketing and communications material.


    Melanie Johnston, Weatherization Coordinator, joined the EnviroCentre team in late 2009 as the coordinator of the Weatherization program, which provides services in air sealing and insulation mainly in low-income housing. She is also part of our accounting department. Throughout her professional career Melanie has worked as an office administrator for a variety of private businesses in Canada and the United States. She also co-owns and was managing a small business that offers downsizing and moving services to senior citizens.


    Greg Furlong, Performance Manager, BASc CEA (MURB) CET, has worked in energy conservation and related fields in Toronto and Ottawa since 1994, including co-owning a bicycle shop and working for Green$aver, where he became a Certified Energy Advisor. In 2002, he taught bicycle mechanics in Havana while working with the CIDA-funded project Bicicletas Cruzando Fronteras. He is also a musician, leading Just Voices choir among other activities. Greg has worked with EnviroCentre since 2003, including audits of Institutional and Multifamily Residential Buildings, training Energy Advisors, and conducting Quality Assurance.


    Sarah LaBrecque, Programs Assistant, joined EnviroCentre in 2010 and comes from an environmental communications and campaigning background. After graduating from Carleton University with a BA in Environmental Studies, she traveled to the UK where she volunteered on organic farms and worked in the environmental sector. Sarah’s experience ranges from waste and recycling education to sustainable travel and fuel efficiency advocacy. When she is not manning the front desk she is out performing at retirement homes in the father-daughter musical duet, Fiesta!

      

    Jessica Sheridan, Programs Assistant, is one of the newest members of the Weatherization team at EnviroCentre.  Her roles within the organization have ranged from working with boutique to marketing and scheduling. She now works as the main contact for client services and outreach for the Weatherization program. Jessica, who comes to us with a strong background in customer service, worked as a councillor for a student home stay organization, as a tour guide, and with Cirque du Soleil. She has been kept busy over the last few years raising a young child, teaching fitness and working in the pet services industry.

     


    Doug Potts, Retrofits Coordinator, has been working in the home construction, renovation and maintenance business for private homeowners and MURBs since 1995. He graduated from the Algonquin College Home Inspector program with honours. He has since added Radon inspection and measurement to his expertise.

     


    Jess Wells, Program Coordinator, joined EnviroCentre in January 2011 as the programs coordinator. In this role, Jess coordinates the Getting to Greener Workplaces program and the sustainable transportation initiatives, including organizing Bike to Work Ottawa and Sustainable Transportation Week. Jess holds two degrees from the University of Guelph: a B.Sc. in biology and a M.Sc. in ecology.   It was at Guelph that Jess developed a passion for working in the community and her involvement ranged from coordinating the Let’s Talk Science program to actively participating in student politics. Since graduating, Jess has continued to pursue her interests in community and the environment through her work with groups such as Wild Metro, an urban ecology organization in New York City, and Ecology Ottawa.
