The Bicycle Film Festival is a celebration of bicycles through film, art, and music. This international festival of short films about biking, was started in New York in 2000 and has since screened in over 90 countries and to more than a million people worldwide. EnviroCentre is proud to be bringing the Bicycle Film Festival back to Ottawa this November for the third year running and is inviting cyclists and non-cyclists alike to join them for a ride around the world.
Explore the role bicycles play in people’s lives from different perspectives and in different places – more than 12 countries are represented in this year’s programming.
“The Bicycle Film Festival is a night of short international bike movies that will bring all of us together. A night for friends, laughing and sharing moments of joy. A night where there is no advocacy, no politics, and no bicycle boundaries. A night of getting to know each other beyond the bike lane”
Jennifer Stelzer, Community Sustainability Programs Manager, EnviroCentre.
The Bicycle Film Festival includes two 90 minute programs that will be screened at the NAC’s Fourth Stage on November 12th.
Program 1: International Bike Shorts, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Program 2: Urban Bike Shorts, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
A full description for each program can be found here.
Tickets are $15 + fees for each program and can be bought here.
Although this film festival is bicycle-themed, it will appeal to anyone with an interest in film, culture, and exploration!
