Job Description
The Coordinator will play a crucial role in the success of our Community Sustainability Programs team. The Coordinator will primarily support outreach and community engagement initiatives for our sustainable transportation programs. When required, the Coordinator will also support other community sustainability programs including green infrastructure and waste programs. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of outreach strategies, assisting in the creation of outreach materials, data collection and analysis, coordinating events, and communicating with community partners and contacts. To effectively perform these duties, candidates must be based in the Ottawa area (NCR) to conduct in-person outreach, attend events and participate in team meetings.
Reporting to the Project Lead – Sustainable Transportation Programs, you will be responsible for outreach strategy implementation and delivery, assisting with workplan management, partnership development, event logistics, and audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the development and delivery of outreach strategies and campaigns for a variety of sustainable transportation programs.
- Ensuring successful execution of outreach initiatives by adhering to established work plans.
- Assisting in achieving timeline-specific goals.
- Building and maintaining relationships with community partners and contacts to strengthen outreach efforts.
- Assisting in planning and managing outreach event logistics, including coordination, setup, clean up, data collection, data analysis, and evaluation.
- Attending outreach events and engaging with target audiences.
- Assisting in the development and delivery of project evaluation materials, including surveys and reports, to measure the impact of outreach efforts.
- Contributing to program reports to provide insights and recommendations for program improvement, based on outreach experiences and/or research.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in outreach, community engagement, or marketing.
- Demonstrated experience in outreach and event coordination.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including writing.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with sustainable transportation options in Ottawa (OC Transpo, cycling, walking, etc.) preferred.
- Bilingualism in English and French will be considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Access to and ability to ride a bicycle or other active transportation device (e.g., e-bike, e-scooter) is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license. For candidates without access to a vehicle, EnviroCentre uses Communauto car-sharing service. Must live within a reasonable distance to a Communauto pick-up location and meet Communauto’s requirements.
