Ottawa, June 6, 2016 – EnviroCentre’ s Carbon 613 Program held its first annual Evening of Recognition at the Museum of Nature on Thursday, with over 100 attendees representing more than 50 local businesses and organizations.
Sally McIntyre, City of Ottawa Environmental Business Services Manager, led a panel discussion on business sustainability and reduced carbon footprints. She was joined on stage by Joel Lalonde of Your Credit Union, Mike Carson of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and Martin Leclerc of the Museum of Nature.
The event followed the morning’s announcement that the City of Ottawa, CSV Architects, Hydro Ottawa and the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce will become Carbon 613’s newest members in Ottawa.
Carbon 613 is a target-based sustainability program for Ottawa businesses. The program has been providing local businesses with concrete tools and knowledge to track and reduce their emissions.
New members were joined by existing members at the event, with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board, Arborus Consulting, Your Credit Union, the Canadian Museum of Nature and Lightenco in celebrating their sustainability successes over the past year.
