Spring is on the horizon. As the days get warmer the snow melts and the many puddles remind us that when water meets ground it needs somewhere to flow. Hard and impermeable surfaces like roads, driveways, parking lots and buildings don’t absorb water, so when rain falls on them it flows into the city’s storm sewers and drains untreated into our rivers. Just think of all the salt, pollutants, and garbage that it takes with it!
Luckily there are solutions to this problem, and we can all be part of them! We’ve just published a new page on our website with tips and resources to help you protect our rivers and waterways.
