EnviroCentre has been a champion of cycling in Ottawa since 1999. From hosting Let’s Bike Month, to creating and sharing winter cycling resources, to delivering the City of Ottawa’s Cycling Safety and Awareness Program, we’ve worked to make Ottawa a more accessible, bike-friendly city for everyone, year-round.
This year, we’re pleased to be expanding our impact through the newly established Community Capacity Building Grant. As a non-profit organization, EnviroCentre is committed to maximizing our resources to drive positive change, both through our own initiatives and by supporting community partners who share our vision for a more sustainable and resilient future.
In 2025, EnviroCentre will provide over $45,000 in funding to support access to approximately 350 refurbished bicycles for Ottawa residents who need them most. This investment will support two outstanding local programs: the Ottawa Community Housing Foundation’s Hop on Bikes Program and Vanier Community Services Centre’s Vélo Vanier. These programs have long demonstrated leadership in community-based cycling initiatives. Our support will help fund program staffing, bicycles, ongoing maintenance, parts, and related programming—ensuring these initiatives can continue to thrive and grow.
Together, we’re helping more people access the benefits of cycling!
