This year marks EnviroCentre’s 20th anniversary, and to celebrate we’re organizing a blow-out ball. This party will work to demonstrate that big celebrations can be environmentally sustainable – that art, music, and culture go hand in hand with green lifestyles. And that the low-carbon world of the future is already here.
The Bicycle Ball is happening on September 27th from 6:45 – 10:30 pm at the Horticulture Building and we hope you will join us. You can purchase tickets here. There are 300 tickets available and we do expect them to sell out, so don’t wait too long to get yours! What to expect
The Bicycle Ball will be a low-waste, low-carbon event, and sustainability will be at the heart of every choice we make be it food, drink, or entertainment. Guests are encouraged to arrive by low-carbon transportation – bicycle, bus (free OCTranspo tickets are included), foot, or whatever creative low-carbon means catches your fancy!
But that’s just the beginning. The ball is a carnivalesque evening of 100% local live music, dance, poetry, art, stories, interactive displays and fantastic fun in celebration of a sustainable Ottawa. Attendees will enjoy cocktails and plant-based apps while dance, poetry, story, performance art and music events pop up in different parts of the room. Fast-paced, interactive and wildly fancy fun, we’re inviting Ottawa to Party like it’s 2050.
Live acts will include… Live DJ sets from Ollie Kavanagh & DJ Fun. Street dancing sets with Moov Ottawa. Swing band and dance troop. Indigenous storytelling with Monique Manatach. Performances by the Ottawa Circus School. Spoken word poetry with Apollo the Child. Bicycle display by the Museum of Science and Technology … and more.
