enviroBoutique
In January, 2011 EnviroCentre opened EnviroBoutique at 366 Rideau Street (across from Loblaws, just east of King Edward) in a century-old building whose energy consumption has been reduced by 85%.
As reported recently in IMAGE, Sandy Hill’s Community Newspaper, it’s open weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm and retails a variety of energy efficiency products that are hard to find elsewhere. In cooperation with Montreal’s CO Gallery, EnviroBoutique provides an Ottawa exclusive of “beautifully designed objects from around the corner and around the world, which benefit the environment, the people who make them, and the people who ultimately enjoy them”.
With generous assistance from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, EnviroCentre will be starting improvements on the EnviroBoutique in the spring, so stay tuned!
