For people living in social housing, energy efficiency isnโt an abstract goal. Itโs the difference between comfort and cold, stability and stress. Sometimes even between heating and eating.
This video, the first in a three-part series, follows the Carver Place community in Ottawa, where a routine furnace replacement became something more ambitious: a neighbourhood-scale deep energy retrofit designed to improve comfort and reduce emissions, all without displacing residents.
Led by EnviroCentre in partnership with Multifaith Housing Initiative, the project shows whatโs possible when social housing retrofits are planned and delivered at the scale of an entire community.
