Across Canada, municipalities are setting tree canopy targets. But getting from commitment to canopy requires a program that works.

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Growing Canada’s Community Canopies (GCCC) grant supports tree planting in municipalities of all sizes, with the current funding window closing June 16, 2026, and future funding rounds anticipated.

EnviroCentre has successfully used GCCC funding to design and deliver tree planting programs in Ottawa, and we’re bringing together municipal staff to share practical insights into planning and delivering successful tree planting programs.

If you are a municipality looking to explore or initiate tree planting programs, join us for a free, one-hour webinar on April 30 from 10:00 – 11:00 am.

You’ll walk away with:

  • A picture of the GCCC funding opportunity, from a team that has been through it as a successful applicant
  • Practical, adaptable project ideas based on our experience designing and delivering aย Private Property Tree Planting Program,ย Tiny Forests, and Trees for Schools
  • Tips for what makes tree planting programs work
  • A low-pressure space to ask questions and hear how other municipalities are tackling the same challenges
  • Clarity on your next step, whether you’re ready to move now or just starting to explore

Wherever you are in the process, we welcome your questions and look forward to exploring what’s possible for your community.
